Organic Certifier Training

If you haven’t already heard, we are helping to facilitate training for new organic certifiers in Arkansas! The deadline to apply is July 17 so definitely get on this if you’re interested. Here is more information:

About the Training Program

:spiral_calendar: August 5 – October 3, 2025

:laptop: Weekly online coursework (~4 hrs/week)

:tractor: Two on-farm mock inspections in Arkansas

:dollar_banknote: Free of charge (funded by USDA-AMS TOPP)

Upon completion, participants may be paired with a certified organic inspector mentor through Midwest TOPP to fulfill the mentorship hours required to begin contract work as an independent organic inspector (dependent on availability). While inspection work is not guaranteed, graduates will be connected with Accredited Certifying Agents (ACAs) such as OEFFA and MOSA, helping to open the door for future contract work.

Who Should Apply?

This training is ideal for:

  • :farmer: Farmers with organic experience
  • :clipboard: Agricultural professionals
  • :books: Extension staff and educators

Priority will be given to Arkansas residents and those with organic farming backgrounds. Out-of-state applicants are welcome if they can attend the in-person farm visits in Arkansas. Those who prefer not to pursue inspection work may also audit the course (no assignments, includes farm visits).
