Job Description: The Washington County Conservation District in Fayetteville, AR is seeking a hardworking individual who thrives working in tough outdoor conditions. You will get to meet farmers and visit working farms in the county to collect samples for Nutrient Management Planning. You will have the opportunity to learn about careers in public service and conservation.
Water Quality Technician II - Principal Duties
· Soil Sampling: Collect soil samples in the field.
· Poultry Litter Sampling: Collect poultry litter samples and transport them to lab.
· Interview farmers and visit agricultural operations in Washington County.
· Assist with inventory and scanning documents to archive.
· Weed control and small tree removal
Minimum Qualifications
· Must be 21 years of age or older.
· Maps – read them, draw boundaries, and made notes
· Confident and conversive person who will make phone calls, leave messages, and have in-person interviews with farmers
· Willingness to safely operate a 4-wheeler
· Valid Arkansas Driver’s license with a driving record devoid of serious infractions or violations.
· Legally eligible to work in the United States and able to pass a background check.
· GED or High School Diploma.
General Information
· This is a part-time position. Hours will be based on weather and M - Th availability. Anticipate 2 days/week minimum.
· The pay rate is $13 per hour. This position does not include benefits.
· Requires field work in inclement or harsh weather conditions.
· The majority of hours will be field work.
