USDA NRCS ACT NOW Funds

In case you missed it: The Arkansas USDA Office has a program currently available, I believe until February 22nd, called ACT NOW. The ACT NOW program allows for NRCS Offices to immediately rank applications for High Tunnel, Soil Health, and Energy initiatives. Walk in and apply for conservation efforts now. You could be immediately approved for funding.

If you are looking to fund a high tunnel, and you haven’t been into your local USDA Service Center, call or visit ASAP.

Quick update on this…sounds like funds are gone already and went very quickly. However, it doesn’t hurt to inquire and apply as that does show need and interest in the program. There may be a second round of ACT NOW funds made available but as of now, that is TBD.

Don’t forget there is an Urban farm program as well. Sign up ends on April 1. It covers things like irrigation, cover crop seeds, mulch, compost and etc.
